Meet The Doctors

  • Dr.
    George E. Neal

I am a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon. I attended Mt. Vernon Township High School, Rend Lake Community College, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Loyola Dental School in Chicago. I have completed the courses of Dawson I, II, and III as well as advanced splint therapy part one and two and completed the Piper I course on TMJ at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study. I have held the offices of the President of Jefferson County Dental Society, and Wabash River Dental Society. I have served on the Peer review committee and currently am a delegate to the Illinois State Dental Society.

Currently, I am a member of the Jefferson County Dental Society, Wabash River Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Downstate Dental Study Club, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. Since dentistry continues to change, I have completed 500+ hours of continuing education in order to cater to my patient's needs.

I enjoy participating in community outreach by actively volunteering in the Mission of Mercy for the State of Illinois. I also have a passion for missions outside of the United States and have traveled to Brazil twice to cater to those in need of dental care along the Amazon River.

In my practice, I perform all aspects of general dentistry including full mouth reconstructions, implants, bridges, crowns, veneers, dentures, equilibrations and bite splints, periodontal therapy, endodontic therapy on bicuspids and anterior teeth, composite restorations, and amalgam restorations. With the above stated, I believe that teaching someone to care about their teeth and how to maintain them is more important than any reconstruction.

  • Dr.
    Michael Wes Neal

I attended Mt. Vernon Township High School, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for both undergraduate and master's degrees in biological sciences. I also created and coordinated a zoology laboratory manual which was used in SIU Edwardsville's undergraduate introductory classes. While in graduate school I was a teaching assistant for physiology. Upon completion of my master's degree, six of my research posters were published along with a masters degree thesis. In June of 2015 I graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. My passion for teaching carried forward through dental school where I was given the opportunity to be a crown and bridge tutor. I received the Leaders on Occlusion and TMD award while in dental school.

My passion is dentistry. As a child, I knew that dentistry would become my future career. Dentistry embraces all of my perceptual talents, past work experiences, personal and professional goals, and is the capstone of my professional career.

I enjoy participating in community outreach by actively volunteering for missions both inside and outside of the United States. I have traveled to Brazil once to cater to those in need of dental care along the Amazon River. I have also traveled to Romania twice to serve the needs of  orphans. Furthermore, my passion is world missions and I've traveled to Poland and Thailand. Currently I am a member of the American Dental Association, American Dental Association Advisory Circle, Illinois State Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. I give back to the community by volunteering on the Jefferson County Health Department Board of Health, and in the Media (Lighting) Department of Central Christian Church.

In my practice I perform all aspects of general dentistry including: full mouth reconstructions, implants, bridges, crowns, veneers, dentures, partial dentures, equilibrations, bite splints, periodontal therapy (including cleanings), endodontic therapy, amalgam restorations, and composite restorations. I believe that teaching people how to properly take care of their teeth and maintain proper oral hygiene is at the cusp of my mission statement for your dental health.
